Brownfield Ag Weather Today

The last in a series of disturbances will cross the central and southern Appalachians on Friday before turning northward along the Atlantic Seaboard.  Rain should linger through Saturday in the northern Atlantic States.  Meanwhile, a Western heat wave will peak on Friday and Saturday, with temperatures broadly expected to top 100°F in California’s Central Valley and the Desert Southwest.  Subsequently, the interaction between a low-pressure system arriving in the Southwest and tropical moisture being drawn northward from the eastern Pacific Basin should lead to cooler conditions and an increase in shower activity, especially from the Four Corners States northward.  At the same time, warmth will shift eastward into key agricultural areas of the Plains and Midwest, providing a boost to crop emergence and development that has languished during the recent cool, wet spell.
