Brownfield Ag Weather Today

The ridge of high pressure that has been dominating the eastern U.S. in recent days has become “contaminated” with cloudiness and scattered showers, helping to slightly lower temperatures.  By early next week, the center of the ridge will reform over the Southwest, leading to building heat in most areas west of the Rockies.  Meanwhile, near- or above-normal temperatures will persist across much of the central and eastern U.S.  During the next 5 days, loosely organized precipitation will fall in most areas along and east of a line from New Mexico to the Dakotas.  Some of the heaviest rain should occur in the eastern Gulf Coast region, where 2 to 4 inches may fall, and across northern New England.  In contrast, hot, mostly dry weather should prevail during the next 5 days along and west of a line from Arizona to Montana.
