Brownfield Ag Weather Today

For the remainder of Monday, showers and locally severe thunderstorms will sweep toward the middle and southern Atlantic Coast, bearing high winds and isolated tornadoes. By Tuesday morning, freeze should extend nearly to the Gulf Coast, from southeastern Texas to northern Florida, with possible implications for winter wheat and blooming fruits. Sub-0°F readings will broadly affect the upper Midwest. By Wednesday morning, freezes will again occur deep into the Southeast (as far south as northern Florida), while a warming trend will commence west of the Mississippi River. The remainder of the week should feature mostly dry weather, with any lingering chill confined to the Great Lakes and Northeastern States. Meanwhile, a fierce, early-season heat wave will expand eastward, with late-week temperatures topping 90°F throughout the south-central U.S. and approaching 110°F at lower elevations of the Desert Southwest.
