Brownfield Ag Weather Today

The eye of slow-moving Super Typhoon Sinlaku (sustained winds near 150 mph) will pass near or over Tinian and Saipan in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, with potentially devastating impacts. More than 100 miles away from the eyewall, Guam International Airport has reported wind gusts approaching 90 mph. Meanwhile across the continental U.S., active weather will prevail during the next few days, although rain showers will bypass the Southeast and the southern half of the High Plains. From central Texas into the Great Lakes and Northeastern States, 5-day rainfall totals should range from 1 to 3 inches. Locally severe thunderstorms will accompany the rain, especially during the next couple of days. Unsettled weather will also prevail in the western U.S., primarily from the Pacific Northwest to the northern and central Rockies. During the weekend, cooler air will encompass much of the western and central U.S., with weekend freezes possible at least as far south as the northern panhandle of Texas.
