Brownfield Ag Weather Today

During the next couple of days, showers and locally severe thunderstorms will flare in the vicinity of a cold front departing the central Plains and lower Midwest, and moving into the South. Event-total rainfall could reach 1 to 3 inches or more from the Mississippi Delta to the southern Appalachians, while as much as an inch of rain will fall more broadly across the South, East, and lower Midwest. Meanwhile, wet snow will blanket the central Rockies and environs, while beneficial rain should moisten the central High Plains. Late-season freezes will again threaten winter wheat on the Plains, with temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday mornings possibly dipping to 32°F or below as far south as western Oklahoma and the northern panhandle of Texas. Hard freezes (28°F or below) will affect the central High Plains. Frost and freezes will also extend into parts of the Midwest.
