Brownfield Ag Weather Today

Lingering showers and thunderstorms across the South will subside during the second half of the week, although additional rainfall could total 1 to 3 inches or more. Heavier rain (locally 5 inches or greater) may occur in south-central Texas and neighboring areas. Meanwhile, an increase in monsoon-related showers should help to ease Western wildfire concerns in the Great Basin and Southwest. The monsoon’s interaction with a cold front should lead to beneficial showers in Montana, following record-setting heat. In contrast, little or no rain will fall during the next 5 days on the Plains from the Dakotas to Kansas, eastward across much of the Midwest and into the middle Atlantic States. Above-normal temperatures should accompany the ribbon of mostly dry weather.
