Brownfield Ag Weather Today

During the next couple of days, the most organized thunderstorm activity will occur in the Atlantic Coast States, where rainfall totals could reach 1 to 3 inches or more. Widely-scattered showers and thunderstorms will dot the remainder of the central and eastern U.S., with most locations receiving less than an inch of rain over the next 5 days. However, a few higher totals may occur across the central Plains and western Corn Belt. In the West, monsoon-related showers will briefly become more active during the weekend, although rainfall will mostly bypass the Pacific Coast States. Above-normal temperatures will continue across much of the West, while a punishing heat wave will persist in the south-central U.S. In contrast, Midwestern temperatures will remain well below stressful thresholds for corn and soybeans. In Hawaii, a developing tropical cyclone is forecast to remain south of the island chain during the weekend, although heavy showers may return across areas of the Big Island recently affected by flooding from Hurricane Lala.
