Brownfield Ag Weather Today

An active holiday weekend across the central and eastern U.S. will feature frequent showers and thunderstorms.  Friday’s most extensive thunderstorm activity will stretch from the Midwest into parts of eastern Texas.  On Saturday, however, the focus for potentially severe thunderstorms will shift to the central and southern Plains.  By Sunday, widespread strong thunderstorms will traverse portions of the mid-South and Midwest.  Finally, thunderstorms may linger across parts of the southern and eastern U.S. on Memorial Day.  Consequently, 5-day rainfall totals should reach 1 to 3 inches across large sections of the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys and the Midwest, as well as the mid-Atlantic and Northeast.  In contrast, mostly dry weather will prevail along the Gulf Coast and from California to the southern Rockies.  Elsewhere, early-season heat will affect several areas, including southern Florida, the Rio Grande Valley, and the Desert Southwest.
