Brownfield Ag Weather Today
The recent heat wave will linger for several more days. Temperatures Tuesday will approach or exceed 100°F from southern Nebraska into central Texas and from Louisianna into Georgia. However, a strong cold front currently over the northern Plains and upper Midwest will bring much cooler weather as it sweeps across the eastern half of the nation, clearing the East Coast by Thursday. As the front encounters a hot and humid airmass, it will generate heavy rain and potentially severe thunderstorms; areas at greatest risk for severe weather and excessive downpours include the Corn Belt and the Northeast. However, the front is expected to largely dissipate across the Deep South, with little to no rain in the offing over the Southeast save for afternoon thunderstorms in Florida. Meanwhile, an influx of moisture from both the western Gulf of Mexico and Southwest monsoon will lead to increasing shower chances across the Rockies and Plains, though Texas will remain dry. Otherwise, western precipitation will mainly be limited to monsoon showers in the Four Corners.
