Brownfield Ag Weather Today

A surge of cool air will soon reach the mid-South, Midwest, and Northeast, with mid- to late-week temperatures remaining below 90°F in most locations.  In fact, Midwestern temperatures will broadly stay below 80°F on July 17-18.  Thunderstorms will precede and accompany the cooler weather, with rain settling into the Southeast during the second half of the week.  Five-day rainfall totals could reach 1 to 3 inches or more in the Ohio Valley, southern and eastern Corn Belt, and Southeast, with higher amounts possible along the middle Atlantic Coast.  Meanwhile, the monsoon circulation will remain active, with showers dotting the Southwest, Great Basin, and central and southern sections of the Rockies and High Plains.  In contrast, mostly dry weather will prevail in the Pacific Coast States, the Northwest, and western, central, and southern Texas.  Most of the West will get a reprieve from record-shattering heat, although temperatures will remain above normal.
