Brownfield Ag Weather Today
Tropical Storm Debby is expected to show limited re-intensification before making a final landfall later this week, most likely in South Carolina. With additional rainfall forecast to total 10 to 20 inches or more, locally catastrophic flooding may still occur from southeastern Georgia into southeastern North Carolina, with potential implications for a variety of summer crops, as well as hog, pig, and poultry operations. Late in the week, a cold front will help to steer Debby northeastward, away from the Atlantic Coast. Meanwhile, dry weather should prevail for the remainder of the week in the Far West and from the southern Plains into the middle and lower Mississippi Valley. Heat will accompany the dryness in the Far West and the south-central U.S. Elsewhere, showers could provide some drought relief on the northern and central High Plains, while temperatures will remain favorable for Midwestern summer crops.
