Brownfield Ag Weather Today

A disturbance currently crossing the western U.S. will become more active during the weekend, leading to 5-day precipitation totals of 1 to 3 inches from central and southern sections of the Rockies and Plains into the southern and eastern Corn Belt and the lower Great Lakes States.  However, dry weather will prevail across much of the remainder of the country, including the northern Plains, upper Midwest, South, and much of the West.  Late-season heat—high temperatures broadly above 90°F—will accompany the Southern dry spell, while above-normal temperatures will return across the Pacific Coast States and the Desert Southwest.  Elsewhere, the Atlantic Basin should remain active, with the potential for the development of a tropical cyclone by early next week over the northwestern Caribbean Sea or the Gulf of Mexico.
