Late-season warmth, heat and largely dry ahead still ahead for much of the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures and near- or below-normal precipitation across much of the country.  Cooler-than-normal conditions will be confined to the eastern U.S., excluding southern Florida.

Meanwhile, wetter-than-normal weather should be limited to Florida, southern Georgia, and an area stretching from northern and central California and southern Oregon to the Four Corners region.
