More mild weather ahead; an ative pattern to shift from West, Southwest, northeastward

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures from the Plains to the Atlantic Coast, while colder-than-normal conditions will cover the West. 

Meanwhile, wetter-than-normal weather will prevail nationwide, except for near-normal rainfall along the southern Atlantic Coast and near- or below-normal precipitation in New England and northern New York.
