Hot, humid weather to gradually ease across Iowa

Although high temperatures will be in the lower to middle 90s once again Tuesday with Heat Indices several degrees higher, this recent bout of very warm and humid weather will come to an end from northwest to southeast over the next few days.

A frontal boundary from Nebraska, across South Dakota and Minnesota will provide the focus for periods of showers and thunderstorms as it moves from these location Tuesday

morning, into Kansas, Iowa and Wisconsin by late Wednesday. A few of these storms may be severe with heavy rains, especially from northwest Iowa into adjacent states Tuesday night.

The front is expected to move south of Iowa by the end of the work week, with fair weather and seasonal warm temperatures returning. The next chance for showers and thunderstorms will arrive heading into the weekend as a thunderstorm complex may move from the Dakotas into the upper Mississippi River Valley.
