A trend ahead towards hotter & a more seasonal rainfall pattern for much of the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures and near- or below-normal rainfall across much of the country. 

Cooler-than-normal conditions will be confined to the southern Appalachians, while wetter-than-normal weather should be limited to parts of the Gulf Coast States, Desert Southwest, and the eastern U.S.
