A cool-off for much of the Heartland; heat builds to the west & south; ample rainfall opportunities
Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of below-normal temperatures across the North, from eastern sections of Montana and Wyoming into the Northeast, while hotter-than-normal weather will cover the southern half of the U.S. and the Far West.
Meanwhile, near- or above-normal rainfall across most of the country should contrast with drier-than-normal conditions in portions of the Great Lakes region.
