An easing of heat, high humidity ahead for much of the Heartland; a gradual drying trend

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures and rainfall across most of the country.  Cooler-than-normal conditions will be largely confined to parts of the Midwest and the lower Great Lakes region.

Meanwhile, drier-than-normal weather should be limited to the Great Basin and the nation’s northern tier from Montana to Maine.
