Sell corn at harvest or put it in the bin?

Sam Hudson with Cornbelt Marketing says it’s a double-edged sword.

“When we talk about selling with customers, we’re really talking about merchandising. Does it make sense to sell it today versus three months from now? I think that’s what the market’s trying to do is find a price where we can shut demand off on the front end to finally put carry in the market,” says Hudson. “Unfortunately, we’re just not doing that yet.”

Hudson says he’s expecting the USDA to continue lowering corn yields in Friday’s supply and demand report, but the bigger concern is what happens with demand. Hear more in this Managing for Profit.
