CONAB raises Brazil corn crop guess modestly

Brazil’s equivalent of the USDA made minor adjustments to its corn production outlook.

CONAB now has the combined 2025/26 corn crop at 144.01 million tons, up 0.7% from August and 2% above 2025. That includes a second crop of 112.131 million tons, 1% higher than last month, but 1% lower than last year, as harvest nears completion.

Brazil’s second corn crop is the largest of the three crops and the source of most of their exports, likely leading to plenty of competition for the U.S.

Third crop production is expected to be down sharply because of lower planted area, while first crop production totaled 29.488 million tons.

Soybean production was a record 180.407 million tons, rising 5.2% on the year, with exports also expected to be an all-time high at 116.2 million tons.
