Ibach tapped for USDA Undersecretary trade post

President Trump has nominated Greg Ibach to serve as USDA Undersecretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs.

Ibach, a native of Sumner, Nebraska, served in the President’s first term as Undersecretary for Marketing and Regulatory Programs. Ag Secretary Brooke Rollins says Ibach is a proven leader that understands the industry and the global marketplace.

If confirmed by the U.S. Senate, he would replace Luke Lindberg who took a leadership role with the UN World Food Program. Rollins says Lindberg has been a tremendous partner by helping expand market access through reducing the trade deficit and increasing ag exports.  

Prior to serving at USDA, Ibach was Nebraska’s longest-serving agriculture director from 2005 to 2017. He is a fifth-generation farmer and rancher who’s been inducted into the Nebraska Hall of Agricultural Achievement.
