Missouri is expanding its temporary dyed diesel exemption to all motorists, aligning with President Trump’s executive order on diesel tax relief.

Garrett Hawkins, president of Missouri Farm Bureau, says it’s good to see farmers get some flexibility to address higher diesel prices.

“Certainly, we appreciate at all levels, state and federal, leaders are looking at regulatory relief producers can take into account this harvest season.”

But Hawkins says questions remain about how the temporary exemption will work, particularly when it comes to taxes.

“I’m just getting back from Washington D.C. where we had a quarterly American Farm Bureau board meeting. All of these questions we’re hearing I’ve passed along with other state presidents to our team so we can get answers.”

Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe’s latest executive order also extends higher ag hauling weight limits through the end of the calendar year.
