USDA details FAS, Rural Development relocations as reorganization moves forward

The USDA has announced more details on the reorganization of two mission areas.
The Foreign Agricultural Service will establish an operational support hub in Kansas City, Missouri. The mission area will also begin a phased relocation of its Washington D.C.-based workforce soon to Kansas City, Missouri and Beltsville, Maryland, keeping some employees in Washington D.C.
The Rural Development mission area will also be relocating some of its positions to St. Louis, Missouri, and the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with others staying in Washington D.C.
USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service supports market access for U.S. agricultural products overseas, while Rural Development finances housing, infrastructure, and business development in rural communities.
USDA says both modernizations do not include any reduction in force.
