A mild to warm pattern to continue for many; a drier pattern ahead for much of the Corn Belt

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for warmer-than-normal weather nationwide, except for near- or below-normal temperatures in the Northeast and Pacific Northwest.

Meanwhile, drier-than-normal conditions in the Mississippi Valley, Great Lakes region, and northern Maine should contrast with above-normal precipitation elsewhere, including the eastern U.S. (excluding northern New England) and an area stretching from the Pacific Coast to the Plains.
