Brownfield Ag Weather Today

Much of the country will experience a tranquil week, although lingering rain across the South could total 2 to 4 inches or more from coastal Texas to Florida and southern Georgia. At week’s end, rain may begin to surge into the Southeast, especially if a tropical cyclone develops within a few days over the Bay of Campeche and begins to accelerate northward or northeastward toward the U.S. Gulf Coast. Dry weather will prevail elsewhere, aside from a few showers grazing the Great Lake States and late-week rainfall in parts of western and southern Texas. In recently soaked regions, such as the central Plains and western Corn Belt, a full week of dry weather will allow excess water to drain from soggy fields and could allow some fieldwork, including corn and soybean harvesting, to resume on better-drained soils. As the week progresses, warmth will expand to cover much of the country, excluding portions of the nation’s northern tier.
