Michigan Corn reacts to RVO

Jim Zook

The Michigan Corn Growers Association Executive Director says the EPA has taken a step in the right direction with their latest renewable volume numbers.

Jim Zook says ethanol has been an economic success story in Michigan, and the EPA’s decision to raise 2017 Renewable Volume Obligations for conventional biofuels to statutory levels will help keep that progress on track.

A study by Michigan State University researchers showed that the use of ethanol in Michigan reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 1.4 million metric tons, removing emissions from approximately 300,000 cars in the state every year.
