PepsiCo helps with greenhouse gas reduction initiative

The AgMission greenhouse gas reduction initiative has a $5 million shot in the arm from PepsiCo. The year-old effort by the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research and U.S. Farmers and Ranchers in Action is to develop and implement climate-smart solutions for agriculture. PepsiCo’s work in regenerative agriculture will drive progress toward a carbon-negative future for agriculture, according to Margaret Henry, Director of Sustainable Agriculture at PepsiCo, quoted in a news release.

The effort, recently rebranded as AgMission, aims to bring together organizations and companies currently focused on climate science to fund research into climate-smart solutions for farms and ranches. The goal is for agriculture to be net negative for greenhouse gas emissions.
