August a big month for U.S. ethanol, DDGS exports
The world continues to show strong demand for U.S. ethanol.
The Renewable Fuels Association says ethanol exports during August were a five-month high at 211.8 million gallons, rising 6% from July due to that strong demand for low carbon fuels, helping support a big portion of domestic corn use.
Canada remained in the top slot, followed by the European Union and the United Kingdom.
Livestock feed demand is driving exports of distillers dried grains with solubles.
August DDGS exports the largest for any month in 11 years at 1.3 million tons, up 18% on the month, mainly to Mexico, Indonesia, and South Korea.
For 2026 to date, U.S. ethanol exports are 12% ahead of 2025’s record pace at 1.62 billion gallons, and DDGS exports are 13% faster than last year at 8.57 million tons.
