Grassley talks Senate Ag Committee temporary relief plan

Senate Ag Committee chair Debbie Stabenow is reportedly considering temporary relief for farmers in absence of a new farm bill.

Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley says that would be a step in the right direction.

“It’s to make sure that the 2018 prices for PLC and ARC are updated to reflect the inflation in diesel, seed, fertilizer, chemicals, interest, and machinery parts.”

Kansas Senator Jerry Moran told Brownfield this week the relief plan could potentially be worked through the appropriations process or any vehicle Congress can pass this year.
