Iowa temporarily allows dyed diesel use for agricultural transportation

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has signed a proclamation to temporarily suspend state penalties for vehicles using dyed diesel to transport certain ag products on the roads.

In a statement on social media, Reynolds said it’s in-line with President Trump’s recent executive order, and it will lower costs for farmers through harvest and beyond.

Iowa joins several states in issuing waivers, including neighbors Missouri and Nebraska. A proclamation was signed in Iowa last month to allow the movement of overweight loads of certain products.

The dyed diesel proclamation goes into effect immediately in Iowa and continues through February 2, 2027.
