John Deere recalls compact utility tractors due to brake issues

More than 150,000 John Deere compact utility tractors are being recalled after reports of brake failures.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the company has received four reports of crashes involving the tractors, leading to one hospitalization and two impact injuries.

The recall involves the front bell crank in the brake linkage of the 1023E, 1025R and 2025R model tractors sold in the U.S. and Canada between November 2017 and July 2024. The recalled tractors are green and yellow and were sold with both opened and closed operator stations.

Consumers are being advised to stop using the recalled tractors and contact an authorized John Deere dealer to schedule a repair.
