Midwest Food Bank expands flood relief efforts with support from Indiana-based Red Gold

The executive director of Midwest Food Bank says a new partnership is helping provide emergency hunger relief in areas impacted by recent flooding.

Todd Greenwood says Red Gold donated more than $50,000 in financial and food assistance to support recovery efforts.

“It was Indiana farmers growing these tomatoes for an Indiana brand,” he says. “They gave it to a food bank that is farmer founded in Indiana to serve Hoosiers in need.”

He tells Brownfield it’s helping the organization meet increased demand across the state.

“It gave us the chance to have immediate food ready for disaster relief and helped our the team by not having to strictly manage our inventory,” he says. “We still have the agencies we need to serve as well as provide disaster relief.”

Midwest Food Bank distributed more than $545 million in food and disaster relief resources in 2025.
