Post-patent crop inputs give farmers more options to manage costs

Crop input costs will be a major factor in farmer profitability next year.

Daniel Faidley with Atticus says the company is a post-patent manufacturer of herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides.

“Our intent is to provide more options to growers than maybe they’ve had in the past, or at least being able to go across the basic manufacturer portfolios and come up with more agronomically objective options for how to manage pests, disease (and) weeds on their farm.”

Speaking to Brownfield at last week’s Farm Progress Show near Boone, Iowa, he said products they sell are typically cheaper compared to basic manufacturers.

“That just makes sense, they did the discovery and development research. Then we cite their data (and) we pay them data compensation for the right to use that data to get our own registrations, and then bring the portfolio to retailers and growers across the country.”

Faidley says Atticus can help farmers save money and be more profitable.
