Missouri drought alert expires after 11 months as conditions improve

Missouri’s drought alert has expired, due to improving conditions.

Drought alerts direct state agencies to work together to provide resources for drought relief across the state.

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources says it will continue to monitor weather impacts within the state. The alert was active for 11 months, originally established last September.

The latest U.S. Drought Monitor shows two percent of Missouri in severe drought, with abnormally dry conditions in more than 41 percent of the state.
