Taste From Indiana Farms returns to the Indiana State Fair

Taste From Indiana Farms at the state fair allows fairgoers to sample products that farmers produce.

Joy Tracey, Indiana Farm Bureau’s District 2 education and outreach coordinator, says the annual event is an opportunity to educate and connect farmers with consumers.

“We try to run programs that will tell people or show people what we do everyday,” she says. “To show people where their food actually comes from. It doesn’t come from Walmart or Costco, it starts at the farm.”

She tells Brownfield the organization is highlighting eight of the state’s top commodities this year.

“We look for commodities that we have not covered in the past,” she says. “We also have commodities that we try to repeat that are very strong in Indiana. The corn, soybeans, and dairy especially.”

Taste From Indiana Farms is located in the Fall Creek Pavilion and was open until August 10th.
