USDA Farm Program Payments Reach Record $13.8 Billion

The USDA says 2025 farm program payments being issued this month are the largest since the programs were established in the 2014 Farm Bill.
The Farm Service Agency’s Ag Risk Coverage and Price Loss Coverage programs are providing $13.8 billion in gross payments. That’s before payment limits and a mandatory 5.7 percent reduction.
Reference price updates included in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act helped boost payments.
USDA says PLC payments were triggered for several crops including corn, grain sorghum, rice, seed cotton, soybeans and wheat. ARC-County payments are based on county levels, triggering at the county level.
The 2026 farm program enrollment is also underway, open through December 11.
