USDA invests $152 million in Iowa rural development

U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins announced more than $150 million in investments for nearly 20 rural development projects in Iowa.

Speaking at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines Saturday, Rollins said rural prosperity is a national security issue.

“This unprecedented, coordinated rural development project will help boost the rural economies, develop rural infrastructure, and encourage private investments.”

Projects include investments supporting hospitals and medical facilities, water and wastewater improvements, and rural business and job growth.
