SW Iowa Field Update

Troy Bauer, Pioneer Area Agronomist tells Brownfield corn planting is nearing completion and soybean planting is underway. Bauer reminds growers that if they have difficulty getting corn planted, they can continue to plant full-season hybrids through the end of May and mid-season hybrids through the first week of June.

Overall, emergence is good, but there are areas that will need to be replanted. Scouting for weed emergence is important at this time to determine post-emergence herbicide
