Good harvest progress in Nebraska last week

Warm temps, wind and sunshine allowed Nebraska producers to make considerable harvest progress last week.

The state’s soybean harvest reached 90 percent complete, up from last week’s 69 percent, and eight days behind the 97 percent average.

Nebraska’s corn harvest jumped from 18 percent last week to 30 percent this week.  That’s still 25 days behind the normal pace of 77 percent.  Producers are still reporting excess grain moisture levels.  Nebraska’s corn harvest continues to be the latest since 1967.

Sorghum harvest, at 27 percent complete, is 23 days behind the 78 average.
