Wet corn hampers harvest progress in Nebraska

Nebraska’s corn harvest advanced from 48 to 65 percent complete last week, but high moisture levels in the corn continue to present challenges.  The corn harvest is 18 days behind normal.

Many farmers report drying capacity is limiting harvest progress.  Long wait times at some elevators are being reported with facilities limiting deliveries of wet grain.

Nebraska’s sorghum harvest is also at 68 percent complete, 19 days behind the average of 93.
