Misplaced funding
Commentary.
First movie stars and musicians, now famous – or infamous – sports celebs are teaming up with HSUS (Humane Society of the United States) – the animal rights group currently fighting to place strict regulations on dog breeders in the state of Missouri.
St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony LaRussa is one of the voices supporting the initiative petition campaign to get a restrictive commercial dog breeding issue on the ballot in Missouri. The Cardinals manager is co-founder of the Animal Rescue Foundation. The foundation was created to address the needs of companion animals.
IF HSUS and Tony LaRussa and all the rest of those spending time and money on this issue would simply support – and help fund programs like the Animal Rescue Foundation, not to mention funding the laws currently in place – everyone would win. . .except for those who believe that animals have the same rights as humans.
Shame on you Tony! You have taken money to do these ads instead of giving money to help our local animal shelters. You have made it look bad for the Cards team and I will no longer be supporting you or anything you are involved in!
