U of I announces county Extension restructuring

Extension service map The University of Illinois has restructured its county Extension service map in order to accommodate for the recent state budget cuts. The map determines how local county Extension services are to be administered, consolidating some Extension offices but still having a presence in every county. In a news release, Bob Hoeft, interim director of Extension, said, “The map reveals the counties that will form new partnerships to reduce administrative costs of county operations.”

Due to financial restrictions from the state and university, the Extension has had to cut $7 million from its budget. The Extension program has not received any state funding for 2010 yet.
