Groups ask for E12 in the interim

Three farm and ethanol groups calling on EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson to approve the use of 12 percent ethanol (E12) in the nation’s gasoline supply. The National Corn Growers Association, American Coalition for Ethanol and the Renewable Fuels Association sent a letter to Jackson stating that considering the Agency’s delay in acting on the E15 wavier they encourage the immediate approval of E12 for use in all vehicles. Citing President Obama’s call for decreasing dependence on foreign oil they say allowing E12 as an interim step toward a full waiver for E15 is a reasonable first step to solve the problem.
