South Dakota governor proposes biotech research center

A new biotech animal research facility could be in the future for South Dakota.

The Sioux Falls Argus Leader reports that South Dakota governor Mike Rounds announced his intentions to build such a facility during a livestock biotech summit in Sioux Falls this week. Rounds said the proposed project is in the strategic conceptual design phase. Though the state is getting the ball rolling, the driver of the project will be the private sector.

Neither a location or timeline has been set for the project.
