Equipment sales increase due to harvest

Combine and tractor sales in the U.S. were both higher this October compared to last October (2009).  The Association of Equipment Manufacturers says combine sales were 24% higher for the month and tractor sales were up 20%. 

 For the year, two-wheel drive smaller tractor sales are 4 percent higher than 2009 while four-wheel drive tractor sales are up almost 27 percent this year.

 Combine sales for 2010 are up nearly six percent over the first 10 months of 2009.
