Missouri health officials list stores in egg recall

The Missouri Department of Health is contacting food retailers who might carry eggs recalled by Mississippi-based Cal-Maine Foods. The Department is having stores pull the potentially affected eggs from shelves.

Cal-Maine was informed last week that 24,000 dozen eggs, acquired from egg producer Ohio Fresh and distributed in eight states, may be contaminated with salmonella.

There’s no illness reported, but the Department says consumers who think they may have purchased potentially affected eggs should avoid eating them and can return them for a refund.

Cal-Maine supplies eggs to Wal-Mart and other stores.
