Where’s the money coming from?

Commentary.  A lot of money has been spent to convince voters to support one candidates over another, to support an amendment or a proposition or to vote no on them. Who’s footing the bill?

The funding for one Missouri campaign – Proposition B – is getting the vast majority of its funding from outside the show-me state. According to Missouri Farm Bureau, through Oct. 21, the Proposition B Campaign had reported receipts of $4.363 million. Of that amount, $3.09 million is from out-of-state organizations and $486,099 comes from residents outside of Missouri. This equates to 82 percent of the campaign funds raised to promote Proposition B.

HSUS, headquartered in Washington D.C. has invested $2.12 million into the campaign.

Forrest and Charlotte Lucas, owners of Lucas Oil Company and of Lucas Cattle Company in Cross Timbers, Missouri have made a sizeable investment asking Missourians to vote NO from Proposition B.

Its always good to know where the money is coming from.
