Research farm sprouts ideas, ag knowledge
Tim Reinbott is well-suited to run a research farm. Reinbott, the superintendent of the University of Missouri Bradford Research and Extension Center, speaks enthusiastically about the plant genetics and breeding work that has been the focus of the farm’s work for the last half-century. But he’s particularly excited about their work during the past several years to expand agriculture knowledge to those who may have no exposure to farming. From kindergartners to adults, Rienbott explains to them what happens at the farm, giving visitors a better idea of where their food comes from. Thanks to recent improvements at the facility, their research may help with the development of drought tolerant crops.
