Cattle count no surprise to analysts

Sometimes official government survey results seem to mesh with what analysts predict prior to the release of the report. That’s the case with USDA’s Cattle on Feed report released Friday. No surprise, said Kevin Good, a senior analyst with CattleFax, in an interview with Brownfield’s John Perkins. The cost of feed, he said, is an issue, but if a producer has feed resources, Good adds that this may be the time to take on more cattle to feed.
