Ethanol’s challenges and opportunities
The ethanol industry is humming along very nicely right now. But the president and CEO of the Renewable Fuels Association, Bob Dinneen, says the industry still faces some challenges. They include the getting over the ethanol blend wall; roadblocks to the implementation of E15; efforts by anti-ethanol groups to modify the Renewable Fuels Standard; and a negative attitude towards biofuels by some key officials in the Obama administration. At the same time, Dinneen says there are many positives including the progress being made on cellulosic ethanol.
